#Monsterpocalypse – Custom Job: Gorghadra

Monpoc has piqued my interest over the past few weeks, and I’ve finally got around to putting some paint on this big ol’ pedestrian, Gorghadra. What you may not know is that he has been the poster child of the Planet Eaters as long as I can remember. As such I’ve decided that he’s my new Monpoc project which meant it wasn’t long until I had him painted up.

This is the third time I’ve used this particular scheme for a Planet Eater monster. The first attempt was with Ultra Zorog and the second was Ultra Rogzor. I used a bit of a different technique for the red than the previous ones, leaning on my recent experience with my Infinity Pan Oceania. Instead of going from Chaos Black to Blood Red in a few stages, I went from Scorched Brown to Blood Red to get a deeper hue.

Also, although I used the familiar Snakebite Leather to Bleached Bone formula for the “Exposed Exoskeleton” portions of the model, I feel I did use better brush control and highlighting techniques to make it stand out better than my previous tries.
